The ILT20, a UAE-based T20 league, has rapidly gained prominence as a major franchise-run cricket league worldwide, even in its early stages. Just a month ahead of its second season, the ICC has conferred List A status upon it. This marks a significant milestone, as it becomes the first T20 league governed by the board of an Associate nation to achieve such recognition.
This designation implies that the tournament is now officially recognized as a T20 event, granting official status to all tournament statistics. In a released statement, the ILT20 described this development as a “major milestone” and a substantial boost for the league.
